Conference Room Refresh
From corporate conference room to collaborative conversation space
The Conference Room as a Collaboration Room
At MSA Architecture + Design, I was tasked with redesigning an existing conference room in their Oakland office. Through conversation, observation and experience, I came to the conclusion that the existing traditional conference room layout did not make sense for this refresh. Instead, I created a more relaxed space ideal for brainstorming and troubleshooting. Due to the nature of our work, MSA team members don’t bring laptops to meetings, but instead bring a small notebook and present on a mounted TV screen, so the large conference table became a wasted use of space. The new room includes movable, flexible furniture that allows for a more dynamic and productive conversation. I created floor plans and elevations, and chose all of the furniture options for this project, delving into the specifics of workplace interior design.
